AniMeals on Wheels was developed by Meals on Wheels in response to a need they saw during their regular home visits: some of their clients were sharing delivered meals with their pets because they could not afford to purchase pet food. Research clearly supports the health benefits to seniors from having a companion animal, and Meals on Wheels did not want their meal recipients to have to decide between feeding themselves and feeding their precious pets.
